Only 3% of Cleveland's public school teachers are Black Males.

Help us find distinguished mentors of color to work with CMSD schools to close the achivement gap for Black Male students.

Introducing, Read Like Me

Read Like Me is a literacy and role model initiative providing internships to young Black males to help address the reading achievement gap in Black male students in grades 3-5.

Hired mentors will work with local elementary schools to run book clubs and reading circles with high-interest reading materials.

They will also develop a YouTube channel to promote reading & teach early literacy skills in this demographic.

Read Like Me addresses not only the literacy gap, but also gives opportunities to promote education as a career field for Black, male student leaders.

Help more black youth develop a love for reading
